Wow, you know theres a recession when net a porter sets up an online 'outlet-mall'. The idea is a good one if rather strange since stores usually have outlets to get rid of old stock and the outlets are usually in less-than-accessible places so as to ensure they don't canabalise full-price sales. Online however, everywhere is equally accessible and there really isn't a signficant difference in service. I suppose this will just serve as the 'sale' section of net-a-porter with the additional interesting quirk of 'pop-up sales' whereby there are sudden sales for a few days. Now thats smart retailing; limited time always creates a sense of urgency and encourages impulse buying.

Frida Giannini is one of my favourite designers. Though style.com critiques her for producing clothes that are 'too-commercial' and without the 'surprise' factor, I'm still a fan of that easy rocky edged out look. I mean cmon, I wouldn't say that alexander wang is exactly all 'surprise!'; what with sweatpants and plain white tees and all. 

I really love her eye to detail with the perfect mix of contrasting patterns and colors. Plus she came up with some awesome thigh high leather boots this season and is that bag (bottom left) not adorable! If only it didn't have the logo plastered to it -___-

Roksanda Ilincic is a CSM graduate, former model, and a well known avant garde London designer. I'm absolutely in love with her ss09 collection - its so dreamy and ethereal and totally reminds me of wedding dresses with her amazing use of tulle! In a complete contrast, her fw09 collection is a lot edgier and 'harder' using animal skins and much more structure. But even then, it still retains a feminine touch and flow. <3

Apparently, her collection was Ms Anna Wintour's favourite of the ss09 london fashion week! now, That, is high praise!
